Finding healthier ways to cope with life’s challenges can feel overwhelming, especially if old patterns like substance use, reactivity, or perfectionism keep getting in the way. I understand how difficult it can be to feel stuck in cycles of ineffective coping, self-criticism, and disconnection — and how much courage it takes to reach out for support.
As a practicum intern at First Step Men’s Therapy, I work with men navigating:
Addiction, substance use, and reliance on unhealthy coping strategies
Challenges with self-esteem, inner criticism, anger, and emotional regulation
Life transitions such as divorce, career change, or retirement
Complex relational patterns, including trauma, loneliness, or difficulties with authenticity and connection
I believe therapy begins with a strong, person-centered relationship. My approach integrates tools from DBT, schema therapy, and narrative exploration to help you stabilize emotions, uncover the deeper “why” behind your struggles, and develop healthier ways of relating to yourself and others.
Clients who work with me often describe gaining:
Greater emotional balance and healthier coping skills
Relief from impulsivity, anger, or perfectionism
Clarity around the roots of their thoughts, feelings, and behaviours
A stronger sense of self, meaning, and connectedness in their lives and relationships
My purpose in this work is simple: to create a safe, supportive space where you can be honest, explore the patterns that hold you back, and begin to feel more grounded, authentic, and in control of your life.
