Rob Munford

R.P.

My work with clients is based on the belief that the past can be a helpful guide to explaining the present, but it does not have to dictate our future. By working together, we can explore perspectives, expand possibilities, and empower ourselves to make new choices. I work with clients to create a safe, non-judgmental, empathetic relationship where we investigate new ways of thinking, change behavioural patterns, and heal trauma. We might work to improve your relationship with emotions, as well as brainstorm practical solutions.

The outcome is increased self awareness and a feeling of agency over life’s challenges.

When working with couples, I help them to identify negative patterns of communication and attachment in their relationship, empowering them to de-escalate conflict and strengthen their bond for years to come.

I also work with couples to help them identify negative patterns of communication and attachment in their relationship, empowering them to de-escalate conflict and make changes that can strengthen their bond for years to come. I have training in both the Gottman Method Couples Therapy and completed the Emotion Focused Therapy Externship.

I have a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MA), a Bachelor’s Degree in English and

Philosophy, and I am a member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. I have diverse life experience to draw on, as a husband, father, and having worked in the corporate world for several years. In addition, I moved to Canada from the U.K. in 2004 and possess lived experience of adapting to change and cultural difference.
