Acknowledging that you need some support to overcome difficulty in your life can be a challenging task. It can often be much easier to keep trudging along the path we’re on rather than stopping, checking in with ourselves honestly, and realizing that things need
to change.
Understanding this, I look to help clients with their courage to take the leap into therapy, and with the support to make for a soft landing. Finding a mental health professional who fits with your personality, therapeutic needs, and goals is a key first stage in the journey towards re-connecting with our inner selves and becoming the version of ourselves we strive to be.
In my experience in this space, I have worked with clients to help overcome their presenting issues and recover after losing touch with themselves. Specifically, I have worked with a large proportion of male clients dealing with anxiety, stress, depression, ADHD, OCD, substance use, men’s issues, relationship concerns, addiction, and insomnia.
The approach that I take with you would of course depend heavily on your unique issues, personal strengths and weaknesses, readiness for change, and some other factors as well. What will always be present however is the trusting, warm, non-judgmental, safe space where the therapeutic bond can begin to grow nicely. I lean on the person-centred approach to help cultivate this rapport while coupling it would more directive modalities including CBT, DBT, Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT), and Solution-Focused Therapy.
My aim with clients is something that can be framed simply – to become a more calm, at peace, centred version of yourself, armed with the tools to confidently take on life’s challenges. If you are interested in working together, please feel free to reach out for a free consultation call. We can learn more about each other, talk openly about what is bringing you in, and I can answer questions you may have about the process. Thank you and wishing you all the best in your search.

Favourite Book: Atlas of the Heart by Brené Brown. I am a huge fan of many of her works, however this 2021 title stands out above the rest. I find it to be equal parts profound, riveting, accessible, digestible, insightful, and enlightening. It is something I highly recommend to anyone looking to enrich their emotional intelligence and better learn the language of their feelings.
